Jay Statman has been a civil litigator for over thirty years. Jay has extensive experience in contract and business claims. In his practice, Jay has represented motion picture production companies, producers, directors and actors; real estate brokerage companies; manufacturers; retailers; direct marketers; and numerous small to medium sized businesses in a variety of disputes.
Jay is a seasoned litigator who is comfortable in the courthouse, at the deposition table, before an arbitrator or mediator, or in a meeting. Jay prides himself on his ability to effectively craft the solution that works best with the client’s expectations, budget and capabilities.
Jay graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, where he received a degree in general academic distinction in 1976 in history. Jay received his J.D. degree from Loyola of Los Angeles School of Law in 1980, where he placed on the dean’s list each year.
Jay is admitted to the California Supreme Court; all federal courts in California; and to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Jay is also a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
Jay's wife Diana is a sole practitioner, and they have two grown children that constantly make Jay proud. Jay is also an avid angler and body boarder and feels lucky to have been born and bred in Southern California.
